Patients Traveling to Fort Worth Plastic Surgery Center - Fort Worth, Texas

Our plastic surgery center in Texas sees and treats patients from all over the United States. The following basic information has been very helpful to prospective patients who are planning to travel to Fort Worth. Our plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert G. Anderson, and the Fort Worth Plastic Surgery Center staff will do all we can to accommodate patients traveling from outside the metroplex.

General guidelines and information about accommodations are detailed below. Modifications may be made, depending on your particular circumstances.

Consultations in Fort Worth with Plastic Surgeon Robert G. Anderson

In most cases, the initial consultation and the actual procedure with the plastic surgeon should be separated by enough time that the patient can comfortably consider the options and make an informed decision, free from the stress of time constraints. If the prospective plastic surgery patient can make a short visit to Fort Worth specifically for the initial consultation with our plastic surgeon, the planning stage of the procedure can be completed after the patient returns home. Just prior to the planned surgery date, a second visit with plastic surgeon Dr. Anderson will be scheduled to review the procedures and answer any further questions.

If separate trips for the consultation and the procedure are not possible, special arrangements may be made for a mid-week consultation, with surgery later in the week.

Pre-operative Testing

Depending on the patient’s age, medical history, and the planned surgical procedure(s), certain pre-operative studies are required. Many of these tests can be ordered by your own primary physician, although certain special studies must be performed at our plastic surgery center in Texas. All blood work should be done within two weeks of the date of surgery.

Recovery

Complete recovery from most surgery can take several weeks and even months. Fortunately, most patients can return home within days of having the surgery. Although the period of recovery definitely varies depending on the procedure performed, the risk for significant post-operative complications usually does not exceed seven to 10 days. For those patients traveling to our plastic surgery center in Texas from particularly distant places, follow-up visits with a physician closer to home can often be arranged by our office.

If you would like to schedule an initial consultation with Fort Worth plastic surgeon Robert G. Anderson, please contact our office today.
